Ever wondered what lasers are made of or how to tell a planet from a star? Do you know the most important energy source on earth? Physics and technology take the stage in Science E. Students explore electricity, magnetism, light, color, microscopes, astronomy and space, inventions, chemistry, modern technology, and early American life.
Chuckle along with Justin in the Discover & Do 4 DVD as he takes you through experiments with electricity and magnetism, with humor throughout.
If you want to do the microscopy experiments (scheduled as optional) you will need:
- The optional Microscopy Science Supplies Kit E (item ESKM).
- A high-power microscope.
- We recommend the Sonlight Ultra Microscope (item 250-40). We recommend it because it truly is a great instrument and because the more powerful the microscope you acquire, the better it may serve you in the long run (think high school).
- An alternative to the full-sized professional model is the palm-sized, 30-power Miniature Magnifier/Microscope (item ES08).
- If you don't want to spend the money at this time, the illustrations within the Complete Book of the Microscope (included in the Science E package) are perfectly adequate to convey the basic information and concepts you want your children to know. However, the Sonlight Ultra Microscope or Miniature Magnifier/Microscope will give your children real hands-on experience.
